On the joyous occasion of our parents' 25th wedding anniversary us children were honored to hold a couples dinner in our home to celebrate their anniversary. What a wonderful, glorious time we all had! The Lord greatly blessed the evening. We were so honored to have their closest friends here to celebrate with us!
We had a time of sharing after dinner along with a wonderful video Josh put together of our parents before marriage, their wedding and the years since then with all of us children. This is the speech that Jordan gave to them from all of us to honor them on their anniversary...
"One by one the years have flown by........... Since the moment you both met the Lord has had a plan for you.... A plan of many years of happiness, serving, hard work and glorifying the Lord together.
Over two and a half decades ago both of you met and Dad being too shy to converse with Mom,..... proceeded to let a whole half a school year go by before he said one word to her.!!.... But soon his shyness wore off and they enjoyed a blossoming friendship which soon grew into them being high school sweet hearts.......
The name Steven soon became a household name in the Ramey home as he would, on a regular basis stop by to visit Julie and raid the cookie jar...!!!!!!
Over the course of time their friendship grew into a love and respect for one another as the Lord was preparing them for the life they would spend together.
Then on March 30, 1985; in the sight of God, family and many friends our parents were united in marriage!! Little did they know the plans, adventures, family and so much more the Lord had in store for them in the many years to come.!!!!
Now, as a married couple of 25 years; they have built a strong marriage, the Lord has taken them on many journeys, has given them us 4 children, and has blessed them in so many countless ways.
As your children we are so very honored and proud to say we are yours..... You have taught us how to love and honor our Heavenly Father, how to cherish the simple things of life, to work hard and be industrious, to have a vision and love one another.
From country and farm experiences.... (some humorous and some not so much)...... to camping and driving all across the US together, starting businesses, building projects, to moving states away, homeschooling us kids, investing all you have and can give to us, to many joys, laughter, big events and holidays, to the simple daily pleasures and some tearful times along life’s way..... you both have truly made..... and are still making...... a wonderful, strong and blessed home for us children to grow up in..... Words cannot describe how very thankful we are to both of you.... for always being there to build us up, train and teach us and for always being there for each other as well.
So to the two of you may we say “thank you” for all that you have done and are still doing for us and our family, for your wisdom, strength, honor to one another, and your faith and devotion as a couple to our Heavenly Father.
And as
Jeremiah 29:11 says,
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
May the Lord richly and abundantly bless you with many more years together and as we grow closer as a family.
Congratulations on your 25th Wedding Anniversary
We love you both!
